Book a tee time

From open the app to confirmed booking. The most common thing your members will do.

1. Open the Fairway app and tap Tee times on the bottom nav.
2. Pick a date — the date strip at the top shows the next 14 days. Swipe to scroll further out.
3. Each available slot shows the time and how many spots are open. Tap one.
4. Confirm your group — your name is filled in automatically; add up to three other members or guests.
5. Tap Confirm booking. A confirmation email lands in your inbox; the slot now shows on your Home screen under "Up next".

Enter a competition

Sign up to the Saturday Medal (or whatever your club runs) and check the leaderboard.

1. Tap Competitions on the bottom nav.
2. Open competitions appear at the top. Tap the one you want to enter.
3. Tap Enter. If a fee applies, you'll be prompted to confirm — it adds to your club tab.
4. Once entered, the comp moves to My entries. Live leaderboards update as scores come in.

Set up biometric login

Face ID / Touch ID so you don't have to type your password every time.

1. Tap your avatar (top-right) → Profile.
2. Scroll to Sign-in & security, toggle Use Face ID on.
3. Authenticate once. Next time you open the app, Face ID handles login. (Android shows Fingerprint instead.)

Track a round on the scorecard

Enter scores hole by hole, submit at the end. Posts to your handicap automatically.

1. Before you tee off, tap Scorecard → Start round. Pick the course and tee.
2. Enter your score after each hole. Pair with a fellow member by tapping their initials — both scorecards update together.
3. Stableford points / nett calculate live. You'll see them under the gross.
4. After 18, tap Sign & submit. The round posts to your handicap record and (if you're entered) the competition leaderboard.

Find a game

You want a 4-ball Sunday morning. Other members are looking too. Match up automatically.

1. Tap Find a Game on the bottom nav.
2. Post your availability: date range, preferred time of day, handicap range you're happy to play with.
3. The board shows other members who've posted — tap one to join their request, or wait for someone to join yours.
4. When the group fills, the booking auto-locks the tee slot and emails everyone.

Import your members from a spreadsheet

The single fastest way to get live. Bulk import accepts CSV or Excel.

1. Sign in to admin.fairwaybygrantive.com → Members.
2. Click + Bulk import in the top toolbar.
3. Drop your CSV or Excel file. The wizard previews the first 5 rows and asks you to confirm the column mapping (it usually guesses right).
4. Hit Import N members. The system creates accounts, mints welcome tokens, and (if you opt in) sends each member a setup email with a one-tap password link.
5. Members appear immediately in the directory. Existing rows are upserted by email — re-running the import is safe.

Generate a tee sheet for the season

From "we have a course and an idea of hours" to "a full 90-day tee sheet" in under a minute.

1. Open the Tee Sheet page → Generate.
2. The modal pre-fills from your saved schedule template (Club Settings → Schedule). Adjust opening time, closing time, interval, max bookings per slot.
3. Pick the date range — usually Today through +90 days.
4. Click Generate N slots. They appear on the tee sheet instantly, ready for member bookings. Existing bookings are preserved.

Set up your first competition

Create the comp, set the rules, open entries. Members see it in the app within seconds.

1. Open Competitions → + New competition.
2. Fill in name, date, format (Stableford / Stroke play / Match play / Eclectic), and whether it's gross or nett.
3. Set the entry deadline and any fee.
4. Save. The comp now shows on the Competitions screen on every member's app.
5. As scores come in, the leaderboard updates live. You can edit, reorder, or recalculate from the admin detail page.
6. When entries close, click Mark closed. Final results email automatically to all entrants.

Customise your welcome & booking emails

Make the automated emails sound like your club — not like Fairway.

1. Club Settings → Email Templates.
2. Pick the template you want to edit — Welcome, Booking Confirmation, Cancellation, etc.
3. Markdown editor on the left, live preview on the right. Tokens like {member_first_name} are documented at the top of each template.
4. Send a test to yourself with the Preview in inbox button.
5. Hit save. The next email of this type goes out with your wording.

Block out the tee sheet for an event

Closing 13:00-15:00 for the Captain's Match? One click, no fiddly per-slot edits.

1. Tee Sheet → ... (top-right) → Block dates.
2. Pick the date range and time range. Add a reason (shows to members as the block reason).
3. Hit Block. All matching slots become un-bookable and members see your reason on the tee sheet preview. Existing bookings in that range are listed for you to handle.

Switch to / from annual billing

Annual subscriptions save your club ~17% (two months free). Toggle any time.

1. Billing → Manage subscription. Stripe Customer Portal opens.
2. Find your active plan → Update plan. Pick the Annual variant of your tier.
3. Stripe prorates the change. Next renewal is annual. Cancel any time.

Edit your homepage copy

Change hero text, add an about section, drop in a photo. Changes appear on a draft URL first.

1. Admin → Website → Home tab.
2. The form is split into Branding, Hero, About, Contact, and Live widgets. Edit any field.
3. Sticky preview iframe on the right re-renders as you save. Use the "Open in new tab" button to preview the draft full-screen — that link is admin-authenticated, so anonymous visitors never see unpublished content.
4. For longer copy (about section), the markdown editor has a toolbar — bold, italic, links, headings, lists.
5. Click Publish when you're happy. The live URL updates within seconds. The first publish also emails you a launch guide.

Add photos to a sub-page

Hero photo, three section photos, a gallery — same workflow for each.

1. Open the sub-page tab (Course / Clubhouse / Membership / Events / Contact).
2. Click any photo slot → drag-and-drop OR file picker. Max 10 MB; JPG / PNG / WebP / GIF supported.
3. Fairway resizes + compresses on upload (max 2400px wide, JPEG quality 82, EXIF stripped). The original is never stored.
4. For galleries, drop multiple photos at once. Reorder by drag. Captions + alt text are optional but improve accessibility.

Connect a custom domain

Move from your-club.fairwaybygrantive.com to www.your-club.co.uk.

15 min + DNS wait · 5 steps

1. Admin → Website → scroll to Custom domain on the Home tab.
2. Type the full hostname you want (usually www.yourclub.co.uk). Save.
3. Add a CNAME at your registrar pointing your hostname at clubs.fairwaybygrantive.com. Most registrars accept this within 5 minutes; DNS propagation can take up to 24 hours.
4. Back in admin, click Verify now. Status flips to "Verified" once we can reach your hostname.
5. Cloudflare for SaaS provisions an SSL certificate automatically (5-30 min after DNS resolves). Your site now serves on your custom domain over HTTPS.
